Q. Is Reiki effective for successful weight loss?

Do you ever find that stress leads to overeating, or that even though your weight hasn’t decreased, you constantly feel low on energy, making it impossible to keep weight gain under control?

Recent studies have revealed much about how the brain works and why the body feels compelled to eat.

Behind the brain’s craving for sweets (sugar) lies a powerful scientific mechanism intertwined with human survival instincts and intricate neural networks.

It’s often thought that ‘not being able to resist snacks means weak willpower,’ but in reality, it’s a biological command from the brain. This mechanism can be explained through four scientific foundations:

  1. The brain’s fastest and only energy source   Although the brain weighs only about 2% of body mass, it consumes about 20% of the body’s energy. Essentially, it can only use glucose as fuel (except in starvation states). When tired, stressed, or sleep‑deprived, the brain issues a strong command: ‘Consume simple sugars (like sweets) that quickly break down into glucose.’ This is the true origin of sugar cravings.

  2. Dopamine and the reward system   Eating sweets activates the brain’s dopamine reward circuit.Dopamine release brings pleasure and motivation.Evolutionarily, sugar was rare and high‑energy, so the brain misinterprets eating sweets as a survival advantage, rewarding us with strong pleasure. This creates a dependency loop: ‘When tired, eat sweets to feel better,’ reinforcing the habit.

  3. Serotonin deficiency and stress response   Stress increases sugar cravings because serotonin (the happiness hormone) is involved. Sugar intake triggers insulin release, which helps tryptophan (the building block of serotonin) cross into the brain. This temporarily boosts serotonin, calming the mind. Thus, the brain craves sweets to quickly restore emotional balance.

  4. The blood sugar spike trap   Eating sugary snacks causes blood sugar to rise sharply, then insulin drops it rapidly. This sudden crash tricks the brain into thinking energy is depleted, leading to repeated sugar cravings — the endless snack loop.

Why not try the Online Reiki Weight Loss Program?

It’s not weak willpower — what’s missing is energy.

Strict dieting or intense exercise can backfire. When the body feels energy‑deprived, the brain craves sugar, leading to binge eating or afternoon crashes.

In Reiki sessions, warm energy fills the body from head to toe, gently caring for the autonomic nervous system.

  • ‘When the heart feels full, snacks are no longer needed.’

  • ‘Better circulation makes the body more prone to healthy weight loss.’

This creates a positive cycle without struggle.
