People have various reasons for coming to learn Reiki, but one common motivation is, 'I want to give Reiki to my own child.'
There are many people who wish to help their children through Reiki.
"After learning Reiki myself, I often share with my students how distant Reiki has been incredibly helpful in my own parenting journey. One of the most fascinating experiences I’ve had is with distant Reiki healing.
Many children enjoy receiving Reiki (hands-on healing) directly from their mothers or fathers. Especially when a child is feeling unwell, they start to recognize when their parent is giving them Reiki and often ask for it themselves, saying things like, ‘Do Reiki on me.’
On the other hand, there are also children who refuse Reiki when their parents try to give it to them. While many people say their children accepted it comfortably, some also share stories of times when it didn’t go well. That’s why, if you’ve learned distant Reiki healing, I strongly encourage you to try using it in those moments.
By the way, are you familiar with the mindset one should have when practicing Reiki?
When placing your hands on someone, what kind of state of mind is ideal? It’s about setting aside thoughts like: ‘I want to make this person better’ or ‘I want to heal them.’ Isn’t that what we learned?
And yet—when it comes to someone dear to you, like family—it’s actually quite difficult to do that, isn’t it?"
This mindset is something every Reiki practitioner should learn first. And yet, as people continue their practice over the years, it’s quite common for them to forget it—or to practice without paying attention to it.
So when Reiki doesn’t seem to go well, where might the cause lie? I want you to take a moment to revisit this.
For those hearing about distant Reiki healing for the first time, doesn’t it seem almost magical? After all, it’s possible to send Reiki from afar without even touching the recipient directly.
Distant Reiki healing is taught in our Level 2 Usui Reiki attunement course, and I truly hope people will approach it with curiosity and excitement.
